keeping up

Creating art is the best and most fullfilling part of being a professional artist no doubt. That however, is just a fraction of what it takes.I find keeping a website current most challenging. And now you have a facebook page, twitter acct. etc.Today is a rainy quiet day at home with a studio upstairs calling me to paint but alas, I feel like I need to spend some time updating and getting at least some of my pages more current. I started the day making a new Facebook page so that I can separate my personal page from my work. Right now I combine both. That project went by the wayside as I moved to my website. First stop was the "news " page. Day to day it feels like things are moving much more slowly in this down economy, grouped it feels very vibrant.Next stop, blog... new work!I am inspired by "bonesaw" and "hoag" who formed the band "Full Service".They are absolutely on top of all forms of communication to their audience..and they do it all themselves....writing the music(lyric and melody), practicing, touring, blogging, tweeting, facebooking, myspace, email campaigns, pr contacts, booking, video documenting, editing, posting....24/7.Whew.They have a show at Stubb's tonight...then off on tour. Full disclosure, they are my cousins (way younger though).
I have had several days in the studio and have started a new Flora series one of which is here. It's still being developed and more possibilities explored. After doing twelve of them and seeing the images together it occurred to me that these are directly influenced by the work of Priscilla Sage .It wasn't intentional but living with her work all of my life has informed it....just does. How could it not?
See a slideshow of some of the pieces below.
So now where do I go in the cyberworld?Tweet which posts on my Facebook page to read my blog on my website?Yeah, looks like it.Tweet you later!
